A place to show what I make and to say what’s happening in Cherise World =D

I DO:
– Arts On Prescription: A thang run by City Arts. It’s a BRILLIANT funded thing where we get to try working with all sorts of things- from this I have developed a love of Mono-Printing, silk painting, paper bag lanterns and embellishing on ALL of these =D

– Make Jewellery and creative stuff and ting: www.folksy.com/shops/makeme

Reading– I don’t like when people say “I DONT do reading”, I just switch off. Xinran and Neil Gaiman are my favourites! I also love this book by Tim Fitzhigham who rode the English Channel in a Thomas Crapper Bathtub.

– I luuurve comedy and live stand-up comedy. My fave comedian DVDs are Josie Long’s “Trying is Good” and David Gorman’s Googlewhack.

– My friend Dee sometimes has craft days at her house, it was her, my mum and Morag who taught me to knit and at her house that I help make jam, learned about printing, scanning, brusso and various pretty effects AND be fearless in art.

Hmmm… how much should I write here in the About Me section? I’m an Aries- it’s the first sun sign in the zodiac so an excuse to be childish in ways, a fire sign , a ram and hot-tempered.

An ex-goth, now loving and embracing colour, moving on to folk, country, rock, pop electro and techno… plus a slight obsession with OK Go, Rufus Wainwright, Ryan Adams, IamX and Sunshine. Rufus Wainwright: “There’s no life without humour. It can make the wonderful moments of life truly glorious, and it can make tragic moments bearable.”

Local comedy club is Nottingham’s Just The Tonic (WOOP!) but I also visit the Lakeside Arts Centre (Djanogly sp?).

Every autumn I go on a week-long holiday with my sister and brother-in-law. We’ve been to France, Northumberland (Alnwick), Wales, S. Ireland (Cork) and Rhodes. I have two sisters in total as well as a brother, brother in law, 4 nices, two grand nieces, a nephew, a grand nephew, uncles, aunts and cousins.

I’m vegetarian. My brother, when my sister was 11, bet her she couldn’t go a week without meat. She didn’t eat meat for another 11 years. I stopped when I was 14 and read The Teenagers Guide to Vegetarianism for a school project and found out who the animals were kept, how they died and how the land could be put to better use.

J’ai fini?
